The warm Fall wedding day over the hills in San Luis Obispo, California, was a pleasure to be a part of. As a San Luis Obispo wedding photographer, we get to meet the most incredible couples and document their love stories on film at the most majestic and enchanting venues.
And for Ali and Chris, it was no different. They chose the Greengate Ranch & Vineyard because of the awe-inspiring views of rolling hills, world-acclaimed vineyards, and the rustic luxury experience, which did not disappoint.
Rustic Luxury Weddings At Greengate Ranch
Located in the heart of Edna Valley Wine Country in San Luis Obispo, Greengate Ranch & Vineyard is 140 acres of absolute beauty. The property combines beautiful recreation areas and the lush rolling hills of world-acclaimed vineyards.
At one time, it was a working horse ranch and is now used for luxury weddings and events as well as luxury accommodations for people who want to escape everyday life. The property includes a vintage wood barn, stables, a courtyard, and multiple grand lawns that offer a unique venue for recreation, celebrations, and retreats.
What’s To Love About The Greengate Ranch & Vineyard
It is steeped in history dating all the way back to the 1800s as a dairy farm. But is best known for its rise to international acclaim as a place for breeding world-class Arabian horses. It became home to world-class Arabian events, auctions, and extravagant galas that were attended by royalty, celebrities, and luminaries from the Middle East who traveled halfway across the globe to visit Greengate Farms. It’s a pretty incredible history.
In July 2012, it was purchased by a local businessman who had a different vision for the property. And thus, an intensive restoration began turning it into what we know today as the Greengate Ranch & Vineyard.
Today, it is a world-class wedding venue in San Luis Obispo with majestic views of the rolling vineyard hills and a luxury experience unlike any other.
Wedding Ceremony & Reception At Greengate Ranch
As wedding photographers at Greengate Ranch & Vineyard, we see beauty everywhere. So finding places to use as backdrops is easy. And fall weddings are always so pretty because of the beautiful pops of color. Lovely shades of oranges, browns, shades of blush, and of course, the lush green vineyards and pastures. are picture-perfect.
And for Ali and Chris’ wedding, they incorporated it all, making my heart sing. It was the most stunning day. Ali wore a romantic off-the-shoulder wedding dress with the most enchanting sleeves. Her bouquet was incredible. And the bridal party wore colors that matched some of the flowers in the bouquet, which made everything so aesthetically pleasing.
And the ceremony space was a San Luis Obispo wedding photographer’s dream. Located on the lawn, the altar was a beautiful geometric design with large floral installations and rustic mats for the couple to stand on. Guests witnessed the ceremony from rustic benches, which created such an intimate setting.
Fine Art Wedding Photography At Greengate Ranch & Vineyard
In my personal opinion, the pictures that are not staged, but rather the ones the newlyweds never knew were taken, the most spontaneous pictures filled with a lot of big smiles, tears of joy, or someone falling on the dancefloor, are the most cherished of all.
Probably one of my favorite photos is the moment when Ali & Chris are reading their vows to each other. This moment, in general, is the most perfect for me. I tried to capture the moment and emotion that was present at that moment. The background was perfect, the decorations were impeccable, and the newlywed couple made the photo whole.
Being a San Luis Obispo fine art wedding photographer, I try to bring out every bit of happiness from Ali & Chris’ friends and families. Every situation was divine. And you could see the couple enjoying themselves while searching for ways to create an unforgettable experience for all.
What I love about this venue is the closeness to nature and what nature itself represents. The vineyard, white horses, the little lake, the classic Porsche, and various flowers. I love it all.
It is of great responsibility to be able to capture such moments and make them forever-lasting memories. Greengate Ranch & Vineyard wedding photographers are not just people who operate the camera and just shoot some pictures. Our job is to capture the small moments that awaken a rollercoaster of emotions whenever you open your photo album and go back to look at the photographs.
